Kinderhook House is Haunted

JOHN KNOTT, the owner of Quadrille, a fabric and wall coverings company based in Manhattan, expected surprises when he bought a weekend home in the country, an 1839 Greek Revival house in Kinderhook in Columbia County, N.Y. Inconveniences were bound to crop up — a leaky roof, problematic plumbing, boiler issues.

But he was not expecting ghosts.

  • cobwebs

  • dark fabrics (capes, curtains, drapes for furniture)

  • other "scary" things

  • anyone with Haunted House experience

  • anyone with special effects experience

If you are interested in making a donation or donating your time, please contact Laurie Quinn at 392-6890 or click here to send an email.

Come and be SCARED (if you DARE) !

Come join us for SCARY fun on Halloween night, when the Wenk Funeral Home on Payn Avenue comes alive with the undead. Admission is $5.00 and the proceeds will benefit the Chatham High School senior class and the Northern Columbia Rotary Club, which gives back to the community in many ways, from donations to numerous non-profit organizations, to scholarships for local youth.

The Haunted House will be open Halloween night, October 31, from 6pm-9pm (or until the line is gone). We are hoping for good weather for the trick or treaters, but a good thunderstorm will be a mere murmur amidst all the fearful screams inside the Haunted House! Parking will be available on the street.

WARNING: This Haunted House is not for the weak (or young) at heart. The event is not recommended for those under 12, who have other community activities to participate in, like the Chatham Fire House's annual Halloween party and a new event the next day, November 1, put on by Main Street merchants.

Come, join in the fun and help Chatham's Senior Class and our community!

Pssst....Tell your friends. There's safety in numbers!!!
